Today I want to talk to you about the privilege of traveling. If you are privileged enough to travel and specially during this pandemic, do it with love and respect and always keep in mind that the travel industry is the one that has suffered the most during this pandemic. Literally we stopped working for 7 months, this means 0 income, 0 government help. Recently I’ve encounter a series of people inquiring about our tours and asking for crazy discounts or even free tours. And I want to ask you from the bottom of my heart please DON’T. It will never occur to me to try to get advantage of small companies that have struggle to survive. This not only apply to me, don’t do it to the drivers, museum guides, crafts vendors, hotels, restaurants or any attractions. If you are privileged enough to travel, try to use your privilege to uplift local economies, to help us get back on track, to literally give us the chance to survive. Asking for huge discounts from small companies it’s a predator behavior that will lead us to have only big corporations with shitty service that don’t give a f**k about you, the community or the good practices. Whenever you go during this pandemic or after when things are better, please be happy to pay the real prices, be happy to support local industries, be happy to be able to spend money and make this world a less shitty place. Don’t bargain.
