Causes of saggy breasts

breast supportBreasts lack muscles but have ligaments and tissues that’s why they are susceptible to sagging which is sometimes referred to as involution. They have the ability to regenerate cells and loads of collagen during youth, gravity over time affects the turgidity of the breast and the tissues became less elastic.

Taking proper care of the breast through beauty treatment, the kind of bra worn is important. Wearing a highly restrictive bra affects the blood flow while having a loose bra gives poor support. While exercising women should use appropriate sports bra because exercising or running without one can severely damage the tissues that support the breast.

Gravity can be hard on the breasts but wearing the correct undergarment can reduce the effect of gravity on the breasts. Eventually all women would experience the effect of sagging during their life time either due to external factor or age.

Childbearing

Childbearing drastically changes the size of the breast to accommodate the demand of child rearing. The breast tissues grow and considerably increases with subsequent pregnancies, during pregnancy the breast become more rounded fuller, softer and alluring.

Late child bearing is said to have lower level of risk of cancer while the effect of estrogen might cause unsightly stretch marks. The tissue shrinks and fat absorbed resulting in a reduction in breast size after pregnancy. This process of reabsorbing creates problems like extra flabby skin and smaller breasts returning them to a size slightly bigger than the original size.

There have been many concerns associated with breast feeding and its effect on breast size and shape. But there is no conclusive evidence that breast feeding causes sagging but the effect of pregnancy and the drastic changes in body type and stretched skin could cause sagging.

Sleeping position

Your sleeping position can affect the breast in a negative way,  sleeping on your side is good if you want to have ample air in your lungs but the breast suffers and might over time start sagging. The most recommended position is on your back this frees the breasts and reduces pressures on them.

Sleeping on the bed face down is even worse than sleeping on your side, experts recommend wearing loose garments and if possible sleeping without bras.
