Yummy Cheddar Biscuits recipe!!

I don't get out to eat very often, but when I do go I have a couple of favorite places that I like to go.  One of them is Red Lobster.  My daughter and her boyfriend took me there for my last birthday, a very nice lunch we had I must say!!  One of the things that impressed me the most was the biscuits.  It seemed as though they were 'never ending' in their abundance!  If you've never had these it surely is a treat!!  Even though my birthday was close to a year ago I can still remember the taste and texture of those light, airy and cheesy biscuits.  Not knowing when I'll get to go again, I knew I just HAD to try to re-create these wondrous bites just short of heaven!  I have FINALLY gotten the recipe down pat (after many failed attempts) and would like to share it with you!! 2 Cups self rising flour (this seems to be the key!!)1 stick butter or margarine (not the light!!) (very cold)3/4 C. Buttermilk or sour milk (your preference)4 oz grated Extra Sharp Cheddar cheese1/2 tsp re-hydrated garlic powder  Place measured flour in mixing bowl.  add about 1 tsp water to the garlic powder, to moisten it.  Measure milk into measuring cup, add re-hydrated garlic to this, let set.  Cut butter into chunks then using a pastry cutter, fork, 2 knives or your own fingers, cut it into the flour, until it resembles pea size.  Add grated cheddar cheese and toss together.  Make a well in the center of flour mixture, add milk.  Slowly work milk and flour together just until it's all mixed and sticky.  You do not want to over work this!!    Sprinkle flour on counter top, dump mixture onto flour.  sprinkle flour over top of this.  Pat down with fingers to 1/2 inch thickness.  Using cookie, biscuit cutter or drinking glass cut biscuits out, getting as many as possible out of first cutting.  Place on baking sheet 1 inch apart.  Carefully smushing together remaining dough to 1/2 inch thickness cut again.  Form remaining dough into biscuit shapes.   Bake at 350 degrees for approx 20 minutes.  Remove from oven and enjoy!!  Warm or cold, these are GREAT!!  I served mine with Spaghetti!!  YUM!Recipe does fine with doubling, each batch makes approx 12 biscuits.Sorry Red Lobster if I've given away any secrets!!!
