Down a country lane today

I chanced to meet a hare

and stopping dead within our tracks

we both stood still to stare

Our eyes locked tight, and methought:

"how an image to contrive"

while noticing deep within her,

that basic instinct: to survive.

Olympus raised, expectantly,

at the ready to take a shot..

No poser she, disappearing rear

was the only snap I got
