The Hybrid

Whoa I didn't expect that guy to turn out to be Caroline's dad. He was the last person I expected to show up. Carol shot Caroline full of vervain and called this guy whose identity remained secret until Caroline was finally shown at the end tied up and possibly in a basement. Also maybe I'm thinking too much but Carol seemed a bit dumb when she decided to sneak vervain into Tyler's coffee. It turns out that werewolves can taste it while other humans don't even notice it. Since she had vervain I assume she's  been taking it so how would her son get into the house if he was a vampire? Yeah I might be thinking too much.

Tyler wonders about Caroline since she usually helps him when there's a full moon. Aw how sweet when Matt offered to help. Yes I'm a dork but you should have know that already. Anyhoo Tyler confronts Carol and they end up laying everything out since they both know about what's going on but she had no idea about the family curse. I guess it was never an issue since her husband never killed anyone like Tyler and Mason did so the curse was never trigger although he did get cranky during the full moon. He takes her to get a front row seat of him turning. I found it a little disturbing since he of course ends up naked but she realizes that she was wrong to call for help. Also I'm thinking Liz might be a bit pissed about her ex husband getting called and I wonder where Steven is since I think that's the boyfriend's name.

This episode was pretty cooperative when it came to shirtless moments. Sure there wasn't a bubble bath scene but first there was Alaric coming to the door shirtless when Elena went to see him. So glad he moved back in with her and Jeremy. Hell he's kind of like the big brother they never had. Since Damon doesn't want to help her find Stefan she gets his help and gives him back the ring which he keeps. Yeah I'm the dork that practically cheered when he agreed to keep the ring after all it is useless on her finger and I really don't think she could wear it anyway since it is too big to fit any of her fingers. So they end up going to the woods and Damon ends up coming along. How adorable was that when Damon called Alaric brother? Maybe it was just me. Oh I forgot I'm not supposed to ask questions since they are pointless and remain unanswered.

Klaus is attempting to turn the werewolf pack that's hanging out in the woods for the full moon into his werewolf army but things aren't working right. Ray's eyes start bleeding so it is more like an army of zombies with bleeding eyes. He's like a flaming gymnast with all those flips. I wonder if he's doing it wrong or if the curse got messed up when Elena was brought back. He has control over the change so the curse seems to be broken but maybe he's just doing it wrong. Maybe he has to turn humans instead of werewolves for it to turn out right. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much again. But it could have something to do with Elena still being alive which he's totally clueless about.

Since Alaric knew he couldn't talk Elena out of going he called for backup. Damon throws her into the water but she's determined to find Stefan since he's not totally gone yet. Nope I'm sure Angelus would be mocking Stefan. Oh thoughts spinning in my head that could lead to a potential idea. When they are walking in the woods and Stefan's going after Ray who took off with his bleeding eyes he hears them but doesn't tell Klaus about it. He ends up getting bitten by the werewolf zombie but Klaus wants Stefan to find Ray before he'll heal him which he does end up doing despite Stefan ripping his heart out. Since Stefan saved Damon from the zombie werewolf Damon realizes that his brother can be saved. Aw how sweet.

But things get a little complicated when Elena leaves because she doesn't want Damon to get hurt. So they get out of the woods and back home in one piece and sadly Damon isn't shirtless once. Come on I want my hot vampire shirtless at least. I do love Stefan and Elena together but I'm not blind and it's not like I don't feel for poor Damon who is head over heels in love with Elena which is part of the reason why he's trying to save Stefan although I think it partly has to do with him being his brother. Unless they have other human relatives out there I think they are the only two Salvatores left so they are kind of like the Winchesters only undead and all four extremely hot. Now I'm losing track of what I was going to say.

Jeremy doesn't want to tell Bonnie about seeing his dead girlfriends which makes sense. He finds something that will allow him to communicate with Vicki after all she did ask for Jeremy's help. I did wonder why Anna never said anything. So Jeremy talks to Matt and at first he doesn't want to do it until the picture of him and Vicki that he set down was set back up. I would assume Vicki did that. So he goes over to Matt and Vicki shows up. She tells Jeremy that he can bring her back but I wonder about this. Talk about awkward. Shortly after Anna shows up and she tells Jeremy not to trust Vicki. So I'm not really sure what to think. Trust the vampire that was turned and soon got staked or trust the one that was around for centuries. Might just be me but it would have been nice if Matt wasn't so quick with pulling his shirt on since I was enjoying the view.
