The End Of The Affair
I'm sure I'm not the only one that wondered why Klaus wanted Stefan to be his wacky sidekick. I did think about their paths crossing after all people didn't know what Klaus or Nick looked like. I just feel like an idiot for not thinking about the whole compelling thing that Klaus is able to do. So it was kind of like how Spike was with Angelus. Klaus liked Stefan's style and the two were buddies until that day in Gloria's when the cops came with wooden bullets. That would be their cue to leave.Klaus compelled Stefan to forget him and his sister Rebecca. Not sure which spelling since there are a few spellings and quite honestly I get sick of that. It is kind of annoying trying to track down the right spelling for a name even if I spelled it right. She's a familiar face if you happen to watch Pretty Little Liars and you might also recognize her from H20: Just Add Water where she played Emma in season one. She had a thing for Stefan. Well who could blame her. But I have to say that Klaus and Stefan make a hot couple. I know I can't be the only one thinking that. I kind of had this feeble hope that they'd kiss.Anyhoo Klaus takes Stefan to Chicago which is where they hung out in the twenties at a bar owned by Gloria who aged really well. She's a witch and happens to think Damon is cute. Well he is of course. Now I'm distracted thinking about upcoming shirtlessness but I will try to be somewhat coherent. Stefan finds a picture of him and Klaus. It looks like they were pretty tight back in the day but Klaus had another reason for coming. He needed to see Gloria who happens to be a witch because he wants to know why he can't make hybrids that aren't zombies with bleeding eyes.Gloria can't contact the first witch. She needs Rebecca for that along with that necklace that Elena happens to be wearing. A witch gave it to Rebecca and since Stefan had no idea what it was he ended up picking it up when it fell off of Rebecca when she was running off with Klaus. I assume Katherine was there for it but she must not have realized that Elena was wearing it otherwise she could have just taken it since she did have the chance to do that. It turns out that Rebecca was in a coffin with one of those daggers in her. Oh that just sucks to have a dagger in you and being in the same clothes from the twenties.Stefan did have me a little worried though when he caught Elena in his little closet of death. Damon brought her to Stefan's apartment in Chicago where he had a secret room that had the names of all his victims. She even read his diary from back then. Damn I thought I was impressive with my read walking but Damon was really impressive when he started reading Stefan's diary when he was driving. Guess I'm not so impressive after all. Damon knew where Stefan was because of Katherine. I guess she wanted a chance to get the necklace. Wonder what exactly it does.I don't think I'd be screaming if I woke up next to Damon but that could just be me. Sadly he wasn't shirtless but there will be a shirtless Salvatore next week. They go to Chicago and Damon leaves Elena alone at Stefan's place which was a really bad idea since Klaus and Stefan show up. Luckily Klaus remains clueless about her being there. He smelled human but Stefan just told him that humans must have been in and out of there for years after all the place has been empty I assume since the twenties. Stefan catches her in his death closet but doesn't let Klaus know although I was a bit worried when he told Klaus he found something but it was a bottle of booze. They took off after that.Elena was determined to get Stefan to go with her so while she was talking to Stefan the plan was for Damon to distract Klaus. Stefan wasn't too happy to see Damon after all Gloria was about to find out about Elena still being alive but the spell seems broken since he can change at will and he was immune to that dagger when he was stabbed by his sister. I don't blame her since I would probably be cranky too if my brother did that to me. Damon kept Klaus occupied and even offered to take Stefan's place while Elena tried talking to Stefan but he told her to go back home and things got a bit blurry. Yep there were blurry moments during this episode. Got something in my eye a couple times.Thankfully Damon was in one piece so he ends up driving Elena home and she's all miserable. Katherine is in Chicago and ends up taking a taxi. I have no idea what she's up to. I just assume she wants the necklace. Maybe she didn't know that Elena had it until later on and thought she might have a chance to grab it. I don't really know. She did have a chance when Elena was alone in the apartment. Maybe she's up to something else. Or maybe she just wants to try to get Stefan away from Klaus so she can get back together with him. I have no idea since my brain is lying on the floor right now.Things got a bit blurry when they showed Caroline and her evil dad. Yep I'm not liking Daddy Forbes at all. I was thinking Liz would be pissed when she found out what her ex was up to. Tyler did go to her and told her but not before Caroline was tortured. Bill seemed to think he could turn Caroline back. Ironically he seemed more like the monster than Caroline. Things aren't black and white but Bill doesn't seem to realize that. Liz pulled a gun on him which I did enjoy while Tyler rescued her. She was able to tell Tyler to get her ring which Bill took off after he got Caroline to tell him how she was able to go out during the day.I am glad that Liz realizes that her daughter is still her daughter. Okay things got a little blurry again. She gave Caroline some blood and Tyler came in and just held her. I think Liz should put her ex in that chair. He was just horrible. He opened up the windows during the day and would let her burn. It was just horrible. Now Caroline's sad because her dad hates her and hell I'm hating the guy myself. Liz did try to cheer up Caroline by telling her that he'd in time understand things like she did but I'm not holding my breath on that. I wonder if the still not seen yet Steven would be able to talk some sense into his very horrible boyfriend.
