RedGage Goes Recent
Hello RedGagers!
RedGage has made some recent changes to the website and we have updated the site with some new improvements. Content is constantly streaming into RedGage and we wanted to show that activity on the homepage. To highlight your content, we have made the following changes:
1) Larger Thumbnails
Our new thumbnails are larger with better quality. Any new content that is uploaded to the site will automatically have the new thumbnails. These enhanced thumbnails will give us a bigger and better window to the fabulous content.
2) Recent in Real Time
While the recent content was available before, now it will be front and center! Our new homepage shows the movement within our community. We wanted to do more than just highlight the ten featured content pages because that didn't even begin to show the depth of impressive work here. The new homepage will display recent content in a real time feed! There will still be featured content, but they will rotate on the homepage.
3) Shorter URLs
While the recent content was available before, now it will be front and center! Our new homepage shows the movement within our community. 3) Shorter URLs
The 'Share This' button under your content box provides a direct link that you can send to your friends and family or post to other sites. Now you will be able to access an abbreviated version as well. So instead of having to use the entire link (ex: www.redgage.com/rghelp/blog/newupdate ), you will also see a short link that will take you to the same URL (ex: www.redgage.com/c-48374). If you are using the link for SEO purposes, the full text version is a better idea because the link will contain the title and any possible key words. If you are using the link to post a status update (especially one with a character limit), the shorter version is a better idea.
4) Videos are Back
What more is there to say? Video uploads are working again! We can't wait to see your videos.
5) Knowledge Contest
If you didn't see it in the blog , we have added Knowledge Based Content to the RG Raffle. RGKnowledge will be a good friend to have on RedGage. RGKnowledge will announce content challenges in the status update and will choose some featured content from those themes.
