RedGage Tutorial: Network
RedGage has unique tools for networking within our community. Utilizing the RedGage network can be beneficial, whether you are here with your friends and family or you are looking to make new connections with other content creators. The Network icon above your profile page allows you to view your Friends, Favorites, Subscriptions, and Subscribers.
Subscribing to a RedGage user allows you to follow their activity in your News Feed. If you are interested in a user's content, by following them you are able to see when they upload something new, add a favorite, or change their status.
For example, if I enjoy reading CarolGee’s blogs I will subscribe to CarolGee by clicking the ‘Subscribe’ button above her profile page. I don’t have to be her friend for her activity to show up in my News Feed. Now I will know when CarolGee uploads any blogs. You can view a list of your subscriptions and your subscribers on your Network page.
Friending someone on RedGage allows both users to view each other's activity. When you accept someone’s friend request, your activity will show up in your friend’s News Feed. Basically, if subscriptions are one-way streets than friends are two-way streets.
You can add or remove friends with the buttons above a user's profile box. Any New Friend notifications will be on your dashboard page. Manage or view a list of your friends by going to your Network or clicking 'View All' on the Friends box on your profile page.
Favoriting content on RedGage is your way of bookmarking content that you enjoy. You can use this section of your profile to collect your favorite work. You can ‘Favorite’ both your own content and other user’s content and this section will display what you like the best!
When you really enjoy a photo that you would like to see again, just go ahead and favorite it by clicking the heart under the image! Or maybe you do not have time to finish the blog you are reading and you would like to return to it later. You can also see when someone has Favorited one of your own pieces of content. This way you know what other people think is your best work!
You can view, edit and remove your subscriptions (people you follow), subscribers (people following you), your favorites and your friends on the Network page.
