Money Making Guru #3 JAQSTONE
(A Money Making Guru: Someone who knows the tricks & trades to making money online. These gurus understand how to use online tools to maximize their earnings & drive traffic to their content. The Gurus don't give us fish. They teach us how to fish.)
I would like to introduce JaqStone to all of my fellow RedGage friends. JaqStone is a user that displays the benefits of having your art and your business related content all in one place. By dedicating energy to both knowledge based content like a blog on how to maximize Twitter for traffic (http://www.redgage.com/blogs/jaqstone/making-the-most-of-twitter.html) and organic photography(http://www.redgage.com/photos/jaqstone/good-night-tree.html), she has truly reached into a variety of RedGage categories. JaqStone has not only seen success in the community and by the growth she has felt in her art, but she is going to share some tips on how to make money.
Thanks, Liz, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the community. RG has brought a lot of good into my life. I became a photographer because of RG, and I'm even learning abstract art now. I've also made some awesome friendships here. AND I'm making more money on RG than I did in 3 years on Squidoo, with a whole lot less stress!
Which tactics get you the most page views to your content?
First, create quality content. That means clear, interesting photos, well-written blogs, and links or videos that provide value. Twitter is best for sharing links, with a description of what the link goes to. I’ve connected other sites to Twitter so that my tweets reach a wider audience. My blogs have a widget for Twitter posts and for Red Gage content. I also provide a service to my followers and communicate personally. You won’t build or keep a following online if you never communicate or provide value. That’s true here, too.On the other hand, are there any efforts or sites that have been a waste of your time?
LinkedIn is useless for traffic because people are there to build their mailing list, not browse tweets. Also, adding friends anywhere just for the sake of building your following does NOT work. People see right through that.
With all of these networks, how do you coordinate time management (online and off)? Any tips on striking that balance?
Automation is key. I devote 30 minutes a day to minor networks and an hour each to Twitter, Facebook, and RG. I spend at least an hour each day creating new content so I always have fresh content, and because I enjoy it. I created a schedule in Excel for online and offline work, and personal time.
How do you find your specific target audience?
I use keywords and hashtags to find people who are talking about photography and spirituality. I’ve joined groups for those who share my interests on Twibes.com and my networks.
Which tools on RedGage do you find the most effective for maximizing your earnings?
The comment box is key to maximize earnings here. Use it often! Not only does commenting on other members’ content invite reciprocity, it creates a backlink to your profile, helps you reach the top payout level, and best of all, it allows you to support others and build relationships.
What steps do you usually take when uploading your content and promoting it within your networks?
As soon as I upload, I submit to Digg, Delicious, and StumbleUpon. Then I write a tweet about it.
Do you do anything off of the computer to promote your photos and galleries?
I am making business cards with my gallery and shop URL’s to hand out when we go places where fans of photography go, like botanical gardens, hiking trails, and art or craft shows.
What types of activities do you partake in to maintain quality and genuine relationships within the RedGage Community?
I enjoy gong through other member’s content, especially photos, leaving comments, rating, and adding great pics to my favorites. I respond to all comments on my content too, because we often hold conversations through the comment box that help us get to know each other. I also stop by people’s wall to say hello or offer suggestions with a private message.
I have great friendships here that started in a comment box. -J
