The use of easy corn cob crafts goes back hundreds of years, as early Americans as well as Native Americans utilized the resources at hand to make amazing decorative items from what are otherwise generally items that are discarded. The idea is that one corn cob with be smeared with peanut butter and bird seed while the corn cob that is attached next to it will serve the purpose of a platform on which birds can stand while eating. The last step is to take your string and tie it to the end nails on one end and drape the string over a tree branch, finishing by connecting the string to the other end.
Another easy corn cob craft is to utilize dried corn cobs as paint brushes to create other fun crafts. In essence, corn cobs can be used as paint rollers by placing a nail in each end that is attached to a coat hanger handle. These can then be rolled in paint or food dye and used by children to create festive and unique pictures with a fun and diverse design, and best of all when finished the corn cobs are simply thrown away with no need for cleaning.
