Make Your Own Yogurt Cheese!
Yogurt cheese can be a natural, low-fat alternative to cream cheese. You can make this tasty cheese by removing the liquid from yogurt. All you need to do this is:
· 8oz. Plain low-fat or even non-fat yogurt.
· Strainer
· Cheesecloth (or about 3 coffee filters will work too)
· Bowl
What you want to do is line the strainer with the cheesecloth or coffee filters. Then put the yogurt in the lined strainer. It’s not recommended to use the yogurt with the fruit because the fruit tend to clog the strainer. Now place the strainer over the bowl to catch the draining liquid. Cover it and refrigerate for 24 hours.
