Killing Snakes: Usama Bin Laden is Dead
Killing Snakes: Usama Bin Laden is Dead
... while much of the world is reveling in the news of Bin Laden's death, try to remember that this event is not the "end", but rather a new beginning.
There are still wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to be won, and increasing unrest across most of the Middle East and North Africa. And, Bin Laden's Al Quaida was already splintered into many separate groups long before Special Forces breached his Abbottabad fortress this past week. It remains to be seen just how close his ties were with these many groups and regimes, and how much influence he continued to wield within them after a decade of running, hiding, and limited contact. The backlash from dozens of groups is less predictable than that from a known and centralized Al Quaida.
Only time will tell whether this action cut the head off "THE SNAKE" or just killed a "snake" ...
