Way Better Than That
She said,
“I never thought you’d hold the door
Or lay your coat there on the floor.
You never let me from your sight.
Why do you treat me, just so right?”
I smiled saying,
“It’s just the way that things are done.
I was raised to be my father’s son.
He taught me well and how to treat
Every woman I should ever meet.”
“You see
I learned from the best to not be bad
He taught me… way better than that”
He said,
“You gotta do what I say, when I say.
This should apply to most every day.
Now, reports are due, keep on trying.
This is how it is, you’re on my time”
I laughed,
“Don’t worry boss, be done right away.
I’ll get it all done, just as you say.
No need to yell and no reason to ask
I’m here to work and complete every task.”
“You see
I learned from the best to not be bad
He taught me… way better than that”
My dad may have been aged
When I was still young
What he taught me was right
And should always be done
“You see
I learned from the best to not be bad
He taught me… way better than that”
