Summer Heat
Summer afternoon
Walking in shorts and a gray t-shirt
On this busy city street
I’m real hot
A sweaty mess of a man with the shirt
Soaked, clinging to me
But, there you are
Walking toward me, so beautifully
In your white summer dress
It makes me stop
I have to meet you, despite the fact
That I’m a summer mess
So come on girl
Summer’s hot, but you’re much hotter
Than this sun soaked August day
Don’t turn away
Or keep on going, you gotta stop
To hear what I must say
I can’t help… but feel the heat… you bring to me
Summer sweat
It’s more than that that’s got my tongue
And makes it hard to say
But, I will try
I know if I don’t, then I will lose
That chance I have today
I can’t help… but feel the heat… you bring to me
You’re sunshine
In sandals and a dress
That makes a man happy he’s alive
You’re the season
Summer fun and excitement
The fact I can’t deny
I can’t help… but feel the heat… you bring to me
