For many women mascara is not a luxury, it’s an essential. And whilst I don’t leave home without it, it’s expensive and it’s not getting any cheaper. The average tube of lengthening mascara costs around £8 and if you wear it every day, that soon adds up!But there is a way you can save around 6 of those 8 pounds and still get the same effect. Firstly, curl your eyelashes, this not only makes your eyes look wider, but it also makes your eye lashes look longer. Check your make-up box for a pair of eyelashes curlers (most of us have them lurking somewhere) If not then gently press a table spoon onto your eyelashes so that it pushes them upwards. Leave it for about thirty seconds then repeat with the other eye. Next, apply a coat of cheap mascara to your lashes, and then dust a light layer of talcum powder onto your finger. Pat the talcum powder onto your eyelashes ensuring they are all coated. Apply a second coat of mascara and make sure that no talc is visible. The talc will make your eyelashes look longer and your eyes look much more dramatic because it gives the mascara a better base to stick to and makes the colour pop.I use a pound shop mascara and with this method I can’t tell the difference between that and the expensive ones!
