How To Lose Weight For Teenagers ( 5 TIPS )

I have been obese my whole life until I was about 14 years old. During those 14 years I faced fat jokes and bullying. It was absolutely terrible, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same thing.

Now, I'm not going to tell you to diet. I tried sticking to a diet from ages 9-13 and didn't lose any weight. When I lost 35 pounds of fat it was all done in 1 year. Now the first step as cliche as it may sound is to have a right attitude about losing weight and stop weighing yourself each week.

1. Cut out one high caloric food in your diet that is either a snack or a drink. I drank a ton of soda and fruit juice when I was a kid. Gatorade and energy drinks count too.  I also ate some form of candy each morning. It was only 1 square, but had 150 calories. Even if youre snack may be a simply energy bar, CUT IT! If you cut a snack or drink that has 150 calories then you will have consumed 55,000 less calories by the end of the year. That means you will lose over 16 pounds by the end of the year of pure fat.

2. If you go to high school or college try walking the long way to each class. Even though my body fat is under 8% I still do this for the great health benefits and it means I can eat more calories without gaining weight

3.If you want to lose weight fast then I would highly recommend joining a gym and walking on a tredmill for an hour. Be sure to put the incline on max and to put the speed high enough so you can barely walk fast enough to stay on (don't jog however). I did this during the summer of my 7th and 8th grade year and burnt about 600-800 calories per hour. I walked 3 times a week which made me lose about .5-.7 pounds of fat a week.

4.  Try to eat one health item a day if youre not already. Instead of eating that pizza with a ton of calories when you go out to eat, why not try the gyro or salad the cafe offers? Yes you probably will only be saving 300ish calories, but these calories add up! If you cut 150 calories a day as I earlier mentioned you would lose 16 pounds in a year, now if you cut 300 you would lose 32lbs!

5. As discouraging as this sounds, stop caring about whether you lose the fat or not. Push towards being a healthier person. When I lost 35lbs, I decided I wanted to become healthier rather than skinny. I thought the possibility of ever becoming normal was out of my reach, but when I least expected it all the fat seemed to shed off. Build a routine and stick with it and you'll be on your weigh to being healthy very shortly .
