At night, I feel the world is asleep
awake I potter round the house.
No overwhelming thoughts running so deep,
Can get lost on the web, by the click of a mouse.
At night, I hope Angels are flying by,
praying they’ll bring a blessing my way.
Wondering if they did, I sit down and sigh
Will miracles spring forth the next day?
In those wee hours, there is less stress,
Its quiet, its peaceful, even pets are at rest.
With so many issues at hand to address,
I’m able to put my mind to the test.
At night, no sleep my thoughts linger,
Heaven’s door open, my heart knocks.
To all the problems, where is the answer?
Or is it a case of carrying my cross?
And then dawn breaks, a few birds sing,
its time to face the world again.
I check the alarm, as it will soon ring,
Who sleeps a wink, with a heart full of pain?
