Last Night I Had the Weirdest Dream

DreamsLast night I had a very odd dream.  As some of you may know, I had a fall down the stairs and hurt my leg quite badly and have been unable to work for six months, hence I'm getting back into writing.

My weird dream last night began when I was in a house (not mine - I don't think!).  I was obviously still with Adam but my mum, my dad and my sister appeared to be with us.  That was strange in itself as Dad died back in 2000 and Mum has been in a care home for dementia for the past three years.  My sister, strangely, didn't seem to have her partner with her.

We were waiting for some visitors - a couple of what I presume to be health workers coming to assess my leg injury and a load of elderly women that I think may have been aunts.

The aunts arrived first and I made them a cup of tea and while we were drinking our tea the health visitors turned up - a man and a woman.  They examined my leg and said it was as good as new even though I could see that it was hideously disfigured.  They insisted that I should start wearing short skirts instead of trousers.  This immediately got my back up but I kept quiet.  The couple then commented that they were thirsty and hungry so, being ever sociable, I offered them a cup of tea and a sandwich as I was going to be preparing some for my other visits.  Both the man and woman laughed and said they couldn't possibly be seen eating with my family.  I wouldn't have the right quality tea and they suspected I couldn't afford their gourmet fillings they always had in their sarnies.  Utterly incensed I swore at them (unlike me) and, putting it politely, told them to 'go forth and multiply'!

Before they went they debated between them where they could get high quality sandwiches and I suggested that go to our gastro pub just over the road but again, they laughed and said that they couldn't possibly buy sandwiches in this neighbourhood.  Adam swiftly showed them the door before I started a fight.

I then made some sandwiches for my 'aunts' and the rest of my family during which meal my aunts decided to tell me why I'd fallen downstairs.  I had actually just slipped as I was only wearing socks on my feet and the wool from my socks slipped on the carpet,  They blamed everything from me being drunk at the time, sleepwalking, flu, a stomach upset and having wet hair.  No matter what I told them, they just weren't having it.

Once again my temper rose to fever pitch and I ordered them all out of the house.  My dad was appalled that I'd treated elderly people in such a manner but I placated him by saying that I'd make a nice cup of coffee.  I went into the kitchen and then realised that we were running short of milk.  I shouted throught to Dad and told him that he was going to need more milk - so obviously the house was his and Mum's and not mine!

My sister then chirped up and said that she'd got some spare milk back at her flat (she's never lived in a flat in her 60 odd years) so she left but was back within a couple of minutes so must have lived very close by.

The odd thing is that when she came back with the 'milk' it was actually a bar of soap!  No idea what happened after that as I woke up to a snuffling noise with something resting across my neck.  No, it wasn't Adam but was our cat Ollie.  He was stretched down my body with his head on my chest and his paw stretching up under my chin.

I'd love to know if anyone else has such weird dreams and is there a hidden meaning behind this one?
