The patterns in my mind’s eye death defy

A kaleidoscope of lies

Selfish excuses that no one really buys

Always just an innocent bystander

With dreams that could not be any grander

Icy hands claw out the spine

While disposing of a heart that is no longer mine

A penny for thoughts worth at least a dime

Now is the time

Simply losing the death grip

Letting it all fade and slip

No one ever survives this trip

Even when reality seems to tear and rip

All aboard this slowly sinking ship

Awaken the brain

There is no one else to blame

Nothing can ever be the same

Life is a losing game

There is no need for shame

The time has finally come

For all of this to be undone

While it lasted

It really was fun
