How to Connect Nintendo Zapper to Computer
The NES Zapper is a hand held, orange gun used on the original Nintendo Entertainment System for the Duck Hunt game (a few additional games were also produced to take advantage of the NES Zapper). The controller allows an individual to fire at any television screen (that is connected with the Nintendo system) without using the standard NEScontroller.Although most individuals may no longer have a working NES on hand, it is possible to connect older NES controllers to a computer through the USB data port, including the NES Zapper. This allows gamers the ability to continue using the Zapper, without purchasing brand new, computer based controllers.Connect the Nintendo ControllerInsert the USB port on the NES adapter into one of the USB ports on your computer. The NES adapter is available at most large video game outlets (and through a variety of different locations online). One end of the adapter has a USBconnection cable while the opposite end of the cable has a Nintendo connection port.Unwind the cable of the NES zapper and plug it into the NES connection port on the adapter. Make sure there are now breaks or cuts in the NES controller wire. If the wire is damaged (or broken from being bent too tightly) the data from the NES controller is not going to reach the connected computer.Configure the Nintendo ControllerLaunch your first person video game shooter. The game must be a first person shooter, otherwise the NES Zapper is not going to work. However, some first person shooter games also don’t work with the controller, but this is do to the software configuration of the video game and there isn’t much a user can do about this issue.Select the "Options" menu, then choose "Controllers." Under the controller feature find the option that resembles a hand gun (such as the NES Zapper). Some video games are going to automatically detect the NES Zapper automatically. This allows someone to select the NES Zapper option without choosing a different controller format. If the program does not automatically detect the Nintendo controller, there are similar PC based controllers that function in the same way, so select a similar controller configuration to complete the NES Zapper setup.Choose "OK" and the NES Zapper is ready to be used. The Nintendo Entertainment System Zapper has long been a favorite of video game fans. Although there are few, authentic NES gaming systems still available on the market (some are still found on eBay), the NES Zapper is still afunctionable controller and has the ability to work on a computer.
