As there are a number of places where these silver coins were minted, there are a few things to look for when trying to determine where it originated. If it is stamped D, it means it was minted in Denver. Furthermore, S means San Francisco, O means New Orleans, and a stamp of P means it was minted in Philadelphia. If the coin does not have a letter indicating where it was minted, it is safe to assume it was minted in Philadelphia.
