On Dr David R Hawkins ' Map of Consciousness , the mystic's level of consciousness calibrates at the subjective quality of enlightenment. Enlightenment is the release of ego programs as they are dissolved by the Love of God. The Presence of God (as love) heals by virtue of erasing the lower ego resistences like fear, anger, pride etc. Fear blocks the experience of the presence of God as love and keeps a person in a state of negative energy, which is very taxxing on the body and brings about dis-ease. Release of fear brings peace.
