Natural varieties of tulips are about a hundred and thousands of hybrids. Tulips can be found on the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa. By cons, they have no origin on the continent of Australia, North America, Central and South.
Its name comes from the Turkish because the flower is similar to a turban.
They are size 20-75 cm and flowering is over the period from March to May! It's short! Plant them of early autumn to mid-December at the latest!
Warning: the leaves after flowering should not be deleted or swept away as they could not push the following spring.
Tulips are perennials bulbs with long rods.
The leaves are not very numerous. Sometimes one or two or three.
The flowers are consisting of six petals similar, they have six stamens that are around the rods (see the orange tulip heart that I photographed with purple stamens around the central green stem)
Agen Tulip (Tulipa agenensis) is a protected species. It is easily recognizable because it is red with heart petal inside of the black color! It grows in the wild state near the sea!
Varieties :
The multiple varieties are divided into 14 parts mainly because of their size, shape and the season in which it grows. We Found among these 14 divisions, the fleur de lis (lilly), parrots, hasty, the later, hybrids, ... etc ...
