Unique Approach to Yoga for Kids
There is a new dance, fitness, and yoga studio in the Meadowlands area that believes we can strengthen our emotional and mental minds through body movement. This approach to holistic health and well-being also applies to kids' classes offered by Dancetuary located in Rutherford, New Jersey.
At Dancetuary, they strive to make health and fitness fun and attainable for each individual. Participation in their yoga classes for kids has been steadily building. In fact, there are as many innovative and popular classes for mom and dad as there are for the kids!
Kids Yoga (ages 5-8)
This class combines yoga poses, cooperative games, songs and theme activities and engages your little one in learning about the world of yoga. Classes explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while developing mental, physical, and emotional awareness! Pre-registration is required.
Kids Yoga (ages 9-11)
Expanding minds and maturing bodies come together through independent and group activities that stimulate preteens’ physical strength, emotional balance and self-confidence. Alive with flowing sequences, balancing poses, breathing exercises, and creative relaxation techniques, children are sure to relish in themselves. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga, while building their inner strength and confidence that they need to take them into the next stages of life. Your child will be allowed to embrace their potential in a positive and nurturing environment.
Teen Yoga (ages 12-17)
Drawing on their experience through creative reflection, teens explore the physical and philosophical practice of traditional yoga. Teen yoginis develop body and mind strength and flexibility through yoga poses, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation. Journaling, group discussions and valuable activities create a positive environment that supports self-esteem, body appreciation and tools for stress management.
