I have committed to live here with my daughter and grandson to help her in raising him. He has ODD and can be very explosive. He is going to Juvenile court March 22 because he is BEYOND CONTROL. It is very sad but back in August 2012 he got mad at his mother because she turned the tv off to get him to take his pills and he beat her around her lower legs with a plastic rod. He doesn't hit her anymore but did bite her the other day. He is not doing his work at school or being co-operative. The school is at a point they really don't know what to do with him and he is in the Excell program which is for kids with emotional problems. The teacher had to call for an aid to come and help her afew days ago because he was so out of control. We had a meeting on Thursday 3/14/2013 with the teacher, principal, psychologist and two social workers in attendance. At one point the psychologist brought up having his admitted to the Psych ward at the hospital here to be re-evaluated, his meds and diagnosis. His mother and I agreed with that, that is might be of real help. So the psychologist went out of the room and called the psychiatrist(Dr. Germaine) and the doctor gave her step by step instructions on taking him to the ER and what to tell them. The psychologist also copied for us a full stack of papers that the PSR had sent over explaining his behavior, meds taken, etc. So we went to the ER and spent 31/2 excuiating hours talking to attendants, social workers , doctors. They told us after all that that nothing we had listed were things they could admit him for. Yet we had told them about his abuse of his mother, his actions at school and that he is to go to court March 22. They felt it was just a school issue and referred us to his doctor. So frustrated and angry at the system we left. We will get in touch with his meds check doctor and get a referral to a psychiatrist. Hopefully we can get an updated evaluation, diagnosis, and meds regime.

During the week it is everything his mother can do to get him to get out to the bus in the morning. When he gets to school it is everything the teacher can do to get him to do some work. Then on the week-ends he starts off with loud, weird and bizarre noises until his mother can get him to take his meds. He is on four plus Melatonin at night. There is Abilify, Trazidone, Tennox, and Respiridone.

It is so frustrating to try to interact with him at times. There are times I don't even want to be around him. He is too loud, demanding and irritating. And if we try to reprimand him he may throw a temper tantrum with may excalate into a suicidal declaration. He won't work with the PSR very often, lately it is difficult for the counselor to get him to work with her. So we are at our wits end. We really treasure the times he is calm and not over vamped over something.

We are hoping that the court will have some ideas to put forth when we go. And other than that we are looking for the psychiatrist to be helping in re-evaluating him. *SIGH*
