The difference between friends and subscribers

Ah , if all else fails read the directions is a piece of advice to take when you are trying to put together a shelf, operate a camera or anthing like that . Read the manual first is what you are told to do when you buy a new appliance .

The same holds true when you join a new site. I thought I had read through all the Frequently Asked Questions - but if I did, I have forgotten a lot of the content . One thing in particular that I have been wondering about is "how it works when you subcribe to some one. " I get emails from those who are my friends , but I had no clue how to find the content of those I had subcribed to . I thought subcribing was one step better than becoming a Friend to someone.  However it just the oppoosite.

The following is a quote from the FAQ page on  Redgage -                                                "  What is the difference between subscriptions and friends?

Subscribing to a RedGage user allows you to follow their activity (in your News Feed). Becoming friends with a user allows both of you to view each other's activity. Basically, subscriptions is a one-way street and add friends is a two-way street. If you are interested in a user's content, by following them you are able to see when they upload something new, add a favorite, or change their status. You can view your subscriptions (people you follow), subscribers (people following you), and your friends on your profile page or under your Network icon.
