JJ Heller is a Contemporary Christian music artist, originally from the West coast. She began writing song lyrics about her journey with God in 2004 while attending college in San Jose, California. After graduation, she met and married her husband Dave. Together, they began writing and composing full time. In 2006, the couple relocated to Nashville, where they now reside with their two year old daughter, Lucy. JJ writes, and Dave is the editor, arranger and business manager. Her 2006 album, Only Love Remains is an album about redemption. Many of the lyrics reflect the struggles in life and overcoming obstacles. This was her second album. Her first was a debut album, in 2004, Songs That I know.Your HandsIn 2008, JJ Heller released her third studio album, Painted Red. One of the most popular songs from that album is called Your Hands. JJ Heller had a small following at the time, and then one night, a young woman auditioned for the Fox television show, So You Think You Can Dance. The song she chose to audition with was JJ Heller's Your Hands. Among the audience that night was Christian radio station manager, Jon Hull, from the faith based Houston station KSBJ. John liked the song and began playing it on his programming. Soon, other radio stations began playing Your Hands. JJ Heller soon went from having just a few thousand listeners and fans to a few million. The song was played at over 80 Christian radio stations around the country.In a recent concert, JJ told fans that the song Your Hands was a reflection of her own real life experience with anxiety and panic attacks. She was about to become a mom and she was having several panic attacks a day and it was making life difficult. She was praying for God to take away these attacks but no relief came. She now understands that everything is in God's timing and He's in control. We never leave His hands. God had plans to reach millions through that song.Your Hands made itself home on the Billboard Christian Songs Chart for over 24 weeks in 2008 and peaked at #13.When I'm With YouJJ Heller is current promoting her latest album, When I'm With You. Each night she goes and works out in a local gym. Her husband has left her and as she works out each night, she wonders, if only she were thinner, maybe he wouldn't have left her. Who will love her?The final verse tells the story of an old man on death row in prison. He killed a man once and has lived the rest of his life in jail. He is a Christian now and he knows soon he will be going home to be with the Lord. Who will love me for me? God will love me for me. God loves each and everyone of us just as we are. This song has just been named the Top New Female Christian Song for 2010 by Billboard MagazineAnother amazing song from this album is Control. It was written based on the life of a friend of JJ Heller's who has a "cutting" problem she is dealing with.
