So what about plot?

I've been on various forums over the years, and people keep asking me the same old question. For some reason there seems to be a problem with PLOT and what it needs to contain to be successful.

Success? Wow, success is ethereal, an intangible quality. Whoever bottles it first will make a fortune. However, there are certain points, which should not be ignored.
