Unplugged Wedding: Letting the Photographer Do His Thing

Vibrant embellishments everywhere, guests in fine tuxedo and dresses, smiling loved ones waiting along the aisle, and romantic music---wedding is such a cherished moment in the life of a couple.  It is the time when they tie the knot and promise to love each other as long as time permits. It is the union of two hearts deeply in love.

With such great significance, weddings must be documented. Professional photographers are usually hired to take pictures and videos of the event. But with the influence of social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, guests taking pictures through personal cameras or cell phones cannot be avoided. Unfortunately, this action ruins the special moment of the bride and groom. Here are some reasons why guests should put down their phones and cameras and let the photographers do their job:

  • Blocking the view

While the groom excitedly watches and waits for the bride at the altar, guests tend to stay on the aisle to get a picture. The groom has to lean out to witness his bride making her big walk. Instead of having a good view of his future wife in her gorgeous dress and colorful bouquet, he is totally blocked by excited guests. Eventually, the pathway for the bride is also obstructed and she has to pause for some pictures. Instead of looking at faces of guests and loved ones along the aisle, the bride has to glance at screens of phones.

  • Ruining the Moment

After pronouncing the couple as man and wife, the kiss is much awaited. Instead of feeling the magic of the moment, the couple may feel awkward with guests huddling in front to take a good photo. They can overstep the boundary intended for their privacy. Furthermore, being busy with phones and cameras, guests cannot pay full attention to the ceremony itself. Couples would want their guests and loved ones to feel the moment with them. Wedding is a sacred ceremony after all.

  • Causing People to Stand-up

Having the view blocked, people at the back tend to stand up or get near the couple for a look. This makes the event topsy-turvy.

  • Taking over the Photographer

Being in-charge for the documentation of the event, the photographer is expected to produce great shots. However, when guests intervene with their phones and cameras, a good angle is spoiled. The photographer may not have the opportunity to get close to the couple or take a picture of an event with guests behaving in their seats. In short, he may not achieve focus photography.

  • Spoiling a Good Shot

When it’s time for picture-taking, the bride and groom, together with their family, might be confused as to what screen to look because too many people are taking pictures at the same time. As a result, images show people looking at different sides.

When you’re planning your own wedding, you have the right to say that you prefer guests unplugging their phones. That way, everyone might be able to enjoy the event fully.
