Protein shakes can and are a fantastic way of getting that all important protein quick and easy for you. The thing to keep in mind is don’t replace a healthy meal with just protein shakes. You can get just as much protein from a healthy meal as you can from the protein shake. A normal diet should contain between 15 – 20 % of protein. So if you’re working out and taking a protein shake that’s fine. But if you are trying to lose weight by taking a protein shake without exercising that’s bad. Why is that bad, its bad because the average adult only requires 45 to 60 grams of protein and each gram of protein contributes 4 calories for every gram of protein. So that means if you’re not working out or doing any kind of exercise you will be gaining weight and fast.

If your taking a protein shake to help build muscle the formula that you should go by is this (example if you weigh 175 pounds then take between a 175 to 250 grams of protein a day).If your working out to build muscle.

If your shake is too bland, try adding artificial flavoring such as Vanilla Extract or more artificial sweetener such as Splenda. Peanut butter, as well as fruits (bananas and strawberries) also adds flavor. Throw in some honey for added sweetness. Just keep in mind that by adding these you are adding more calories to your Protein Shake , Ya that stinks I know.
If you have any questions let me know. And remember for the best results for your weight lifting efforts I highly suggest a total work out program for the best results. I recommend NO Nonsense Muscle Building program for the guys and for you girls or Lady’s I recommend No Nonsense Female Body Shaping.
