Our feet carry the bulk of our weight. In relation to body weight and proportion, they are actually small for all the hard work.
But, in spite for carrying us whole day around; they are also the most neglected body parts of all.
So, take some time to care for your feet. Here is how:
Care Number 1: Fill two basins (each one big enough for both feet) with water; one to a temperature of 38? C (100? F) and the other to 15? C (59? F). The water in each basin should come up to your ankles. Immerse your feet in the warm water for 5 minutes, then into the cold water for 10 minutes. Repeat.
Care Number 2: Every now and then treat your feet to a massage. Using a massage brush or roller, rub the soles of your feet from the toes to the heels and then the instep. Massage cold feet daily.
Care Number 3: Give your feet a footbath, then rub off hard skin with a pumice stone and push back the cuticles with an orange stick. Finally, refresh your feet with a tincture – try lavender, thyme or sage.
Care Number 4: Trouble with callus? Soak feet in a basin of warm water in which you have swirled a cupful of foam bath and some bicarbonate of soda. Soak feet for 5 minutes then rub callused area with a hard brush. Dry with a rough towel. Rub feet with pumice stone, then massage with an antiseptic cream.
Remember, it only takes a few days with a foot problem, such as a painful nail or cracked, heel, to realize the importance of foot care.
